Okay, so when your avatar was just your eyes, then you decided to hell with it all you were going to show your whole face. Now you're on YouTube...
:-)

This made me choke on my morning coffee! Agree with Lisa--freaking hysterical!!! Love the NY accent too. Goes really well with your humor.

I might watch this again.

You're well on your way to Internets stardom. Now you gotta get off of this blogger platform and roll with the big boyz. Widgets and plugins await you, my friend.

"YouTube, of course, cause you know that's the dream right? 20 years ago when I wanted to become a writer, a big part of the dream was being able to put little videos on the Internet. I mean that's it, that's why we do this. And maybe, maybe I'll just stop writing and do downloads and apps and widgets and..." With all love and respect to company, which really comprises an awesome group of people trying to transition from print to New World Order, you have just defined our Vision, Mission statment.

Damn, Dennis reminds me of myself and my career, but much much funnier. I rolled over this one.

How clever!

As a book publicist, this warmed my heart...maybe I should share it with my authors before their paperbacks come out (I'll keep it away from the first-time hardcover authors though...no need to scare them!)

Good luck!

This is brilliant--excruciatingly so.

Dennis, that was brilliant!

Stumbled across your YouTube video on Gawker. It's brilliant, one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. You pretty much summed up my life at the moment too...and I'm a librarian!

Hope your book sells well; I'm sure it will because your viral marketing campaign is inspired!

Hilarious!

I'm sending it to all my friends. But, um, what's the name of your book? Did I miss that on the video?

Favourite part?

"Select aa-ll"

Okay, The growling bear and man logo. Thank you.

Absolutely hilarious! I went right to Amazon and ordered the book. Who needs Oprah's Book Club?

Dennis this video was one of the best uses of the net I've seen in a long time.

It would have been FOTFLMAO funny if were it were not so on point.

Superb

So woundingly true that it hurts my eyes even to be looking at the Internet right now.

Ooh Lord, it's like you're in my head@

Love this because it is all so true - I am a publicist and my husband is an author/speaker/journalist... nice work. We will have to check out your book!

dude, that was the funniest damned thing I've seen in a while. I absolutely LOVE things with a universal message--especially when it involves universal suffering ;-). And if there's one thing we writers can bitch about, it's the suffering behind the scenes...

I love this video! :)

We all like to imagine that we're genuinely funny, that we're smart, that we have pockets of genius that, on rare occasion, we might be able to tap into.

We don't--but you do. My admiration is such that it borders on hatred. Truly.

Congratulations. This is inspired

Wonderful video, fully getting to the point. You might want to include a bit of your about book info in your youtube page due to the links you are currently getting, this is going to be seen a few more times over the next weeks and gently nudging is okay. ;)

This can become teaching material for authors 101 :)

Hello, May 13 is actually MY birth day.(...) No I am not joking. It is really my birth day. (...) No, I am not an American, not everybody is an American on earth you know, who have new ideas, and can make somebody of herself (...) my accent is, well, okay I'll let you in on that: Easteuropean.(...) Weird? yes, I certainly hope so, weird is beautiful. (...) No, not Slavic language. (...) tiny, tiny island language in a tiny, tiny country, but if you think I am here because I want to pick you up, and use you to become famous, you are wrong! I am just upset, because I am in the process of making a little ad of our book myelf, and now it seems as if you have invented this thing on Youtube, but no! In fact sort of a little movie have been running of our book on Youtube since March 13, - CHECK IT OUT! - where I am sitting in a cab and talking about our book: "Thirsty oasis" - Szomjas oazis

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kU6VeFePTN8.

(...) You are already watching it? okay, I'll only sit in the cab at 4 minutes and 41 seconds. (...) Yes, I am that woman in a red scarf. I am the mother editor of the book. It is an anthology of the female body, 56 stories of 33 women (...) No, that's not the only book, I have also edited "Night time zoo" - about female sexuality. (...) Of course I have ONE that I wrote myself babe, after all I am a writer too you know! (...) the title is: "Found woman", like Lost and Found. It just have become world famous at this very second!

Just when I thought I'd seen or heard everything when it came to book promotion, there comes Dennis Cass with his little YouTube video. It's so difficult to get a book noticed in all the noise and clutter today. Kudos to your creativity. You deserve for it to pay off.

Best,

You doing publication feels like me trying to find an agent.

Best of luck with the book.

Just when I thought I'd seen or heard everything when it came to book promotion, here comes another reader piggybacking name, book titles, and web site onto Dennis Cass's awesome little YouTube video. It's so difficult to get a book noticed in all the noise and clutter today that I can almost sympathize.

Oy, Dennis!! I'd have cried over this had I been able to stop laughing.

I'm buying your book.

More to the point though, which is publicity: does NPR know about this video yet? Does PW? Does Businessweek? What a great publishing story you have become.

Along with some of your other fans, I am a literary publicist and I am absolutely going to show this to all my authors...and then I'll offer them some Valium.
